Unless there is a bidding war, I do NOT see a 1st rd pick being included. I can see a 2nd and a prospect going the other way.
Id love to see Gio again in Calgary but dont think that is their need.
Edmonton is a mess. And they would need to pay more in my opinion in order to get Gio.
NYR has a young D-core. Gio would provide solid leadership to that group. I can see a fit there. Cost? Being such a young team, they might pay a 1st but I doubt it.
Florida is the team to watch this year. They are what Colorado was supposed to be. I can see Florida grabbing him.
Speaking of Colorado, they could be a sleeper here. They have the cap space and the assets to pull such a trigger.
The Islanders? I dont see it happening. The Islanders have been ravished by Covid, they have had glaring holes throughout their lineup all season. It will take more than Gio to fix it.

Can we interest anyone in a high-mileage PK Subban? It's the older model but it can fill a bottom pairing role as well as most career-AHL'ers. He has been slightly less terrible than normal and he is allowed to slew foot indiscriminately with no blow back from the league. He also brings a ton of social media presence to any org, and his off season training videos are inspiring if not a little douche chilly.

Tippett showed how classless he is last night. Totally threw Koskinen under the bus and blamed him for the loss. Yes he let in the first terrible one. Holland is going to spend a ton to trade a goalie and there will be nothing left over to upgrade where it is really needed.
I mean they scored 1 goal and Tippett says they played good? They gave up 8 odd man rushes (including 3; 3 on 1’s) in the second period alone. Team is garbage. They need to fire Nicholson, Holland and Tippett and all the rest of the management buffoons before the team will be any threat.
BINGO!

Oilers could have Vasilevsky in net and they’d still stink.

Geo, Donato (both 1/2 retained) and a 4th for Girard.
Avs get a scoring depth forward that is an RFA this summer, A shut-down D with offensive upside, whose cap is gone this summer. And ridding themselves of Girard's cap hit gives them the flexibility they will need in the next 2 years.
The Krack get a very mobile offensive D, with a good contract.

You don't trade real assets for a 38 yo Gio unless you think you've got a shot at the cup. He'd probably look good on Edmonton, but they don't have the cap space even with big retention.

You keep trying to sell us on the Isles Ek, I don't know if I buy they are still in it.

With the Ellis train wreck, I don't see the Flyers allowing Risto to walk. I could see them over paying.

Letting Braun go in a trade could be a very good move.

I'm sure the 3rd place team in the Western conference is dying to trade their star forward
